Tensor Networks for Arbitrary Geometry: Applications to Frustrated Systems and Quantum Circuit Simulation

7 May / 11:00 - 12:00

Saeed Jahromi (IASBS)

In this talk, I will present recent advances in tensor network (TN) methods for the accurate simulation of quantum many-body systems on arbitrary geometries. In particular, I will discuss how to overcome the challenges of applying TN methods to different lattice structures and dimensions. I will then present three representative applications: (i) the Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the square–kagome lattice, where frustration stabilizes nontrivial valence-bond crystal phases, (ii) the Kitaev–Heisenberg model on the bilayer honeycomb lattice, highlighting competing magnetic and quantum spin liquid phases, and (iii) tensor-network-based simulation of quantum circuits relevant to recent IBM experiments.
