The LPT is delighted to welcome Ivan Khaymovich, who was appointed as an external research director at the CNRS in 2025 and joined the laboratory in February 2026. After earning his PhD in Russia in 2013, Ivan continued his career as a postdoctoral researcher in Finland, Grenoble, Dresden, and then Sweden. He specializes in disordered quantum which exhibit unusual properties such as localization, ergodicity breaking, anomalous transport, and even multifractal properties.
To ensure he could launch his research career under the best possible conditions, Ivan secured funding from the CNRS, TIRIS, and the Choose France program. For more information, see, for example, this CNRS press release or this article from France3.
