My research interests are generally in soft, living, and active matter, non-equilibrium statistical mechanics, nonlinear dynamics, biological physics, and mechanics of materials. My research aims to enhance understanding in both physics and biology through their synergistic relationship. To that end, I use both experiments and theory to understand topics such as: noise and fluctuations, collective motion, active transport, complex rheology, multi-scale mechanics, energy transfer across scales, and emergent phenomena.
